Dr. Candace Holmes, Chiropractor

House call chiropractor Duluth GA Candace HolmesOriginally from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Holmes followed in her parents' footsteps and matriculated at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. At Xavier University, Dr. Holmes earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While studying at Xavier, Dr. Holmes knew that she wanted to become a physician. What she also knew was that she did not want to spend her days writing prescriptions. While researching health care careers, she came across the chiropractic profession.

The summer before her senior year in college, Dr. Holmes visited and shadowed chiropractors in her home city. She witnessed the power of chiropractic firsthand and was able to receive her first adjustment. Afterward, she went home and felt incredibly relaxed. She was so relaxed that she took a three hour nap which was the best nap that she had ever had! "This is why people get adjusted!" she said.

From then on, Dr. Holmes was on a mission. She especially loved how chiropractic relied on the body's own ability to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. Growing up, she did not like taking medications for anything, so, becoming a chiropractor was a natural fit for her. As a former high school athlete, and her graduating class's top female athlete, she only wished that she had been under chiropractic care much earlier in her life!

Dr. Holmes earned her chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She has sixteen years of experience and has practiced in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Georgia. Taking care of patients as young as hours old to patients that are "seasoned," active, and in their 90's comes naturally to her. Dr. Holmes is board certified in chiropractic and in physiological therapeutics. She has extensive experience caring for patients involved in automobile accidents, those who are pregnant, and those who are "weekend warriors." She enjoys caring for athletes of all ages, educators, and members of the service community including nurses, dental hygienists, hair stylists, military personnel, waiters/waitresses, police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians.

Duluth, Georgia has been home for Dr. Holmes and her two daughters for the past five years. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is a member of the International House call chiropractor's Association. In her time away from the office, Dr. Holmes enjoys supporting her daughters in dance and travel softball as well as dining out, power walking, reading, and yoga. Her daughters are adjusted regularly and have been under chiropractic care since they were hours old. She enjoys taking care of her patients and she looks forward to caring for you and your family, too!

NEUROFEEDBACK/BIOFEEDBACK THERAPY

Dr. Holmes added neurofeedback/EEG biofeedback therapy to her office to give patients an option other than drugs for dealing with symptoms of various neurological conditions. She obtained advanced certification in QEEG (Qualitative Electroencephalogram) and neurofeedback from BrainCore Systems. Neurofeedback therapy has over forty years of peer-reviewed, university based research demonstrating it's efficacy from such reputable institutions as Harvard, the Mayo Clinic, and Stanford. She is excited to help both children and adults who suffer from conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, Autism/Asperger's, depression, insomnia, fibromyalgia, memory loss, PTSD, learning disorders, migraines, chronic pain, plus many more.

WHAT IS IT?

Neurofeedback is a simple learning modality that is painless, drugless, and non-invasive. It is considered safe and effective for both children and adults. It works by training the brain to function at it's maximum potential.

SYMPTOMS

I have heard of too many children and adults who suffer from symptoms of ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, PTSD, chronic pain, autism/Asperger’s, and many other neurological disorders.

LASTING RESULTS

After researching the positive and lasting results of neurofeedback/biofeedback therapy, I decided to offer this therapy in my office. It also works well to help busy professionals and individuals obtain optimal/peak brain performance.
